Join us for our second live, indoor performance since March! Tickets Now on Sale.
Due to government restrictions on indoor performances, we have had to reschedule or postpone the majority of shows at The Stables since the end of March. These restrictions have recently been eased and some venues around the UK are now beginning to re-open their doors for live, indoor performances once again... including ourselves - and we're delighted to be able to present this Sunday morning jazz concert by Joanna Eden on Sunday18 October.
Follow this link to read about the planning that has taken place to ensure we can provide a safe environment for all our customers, staff and artists.
We will be relocating this concert from the Mancini Forum (where it was originally scheduled to take place) to the Jim Marshall Auditorium to ensure that audience groupings can be socially distanced.
We have a limited amount of seats available for the concert. For now, please just book the number of seats you require by following the booking link above. You will be allocated specific seats in advance of the concert - we will be in contact with customers in the run-up to the concert with details of these, as well as further information regarding how the concert will run on the day.
For any enquiries, please email The Stables box office at email@example.com
We look forward to welcoming you back to The Stables!
Joanna Eden: Sondheim & Me
Acclaimed singer/pianist Joanna Eden finally owns up to her passion for musical theatre and treads the line between jazz cool and heart-filled storytelling. Joanna is joined by the world class George Double Trio featuring George Double (Shirley Bassey) on drums, Russell Swift (Harry Conick Jnr, Blur) on bass and multi-instrumentalist Gerry Hunt (Roberto Pla).
Launched at the EFG London Jazz Festival to much acclaim this show is a must for those who have a passion for jazz and musical theatre.
Joanna Eden shows her adoration of the music of ‘The Godfather of Modern Musical Theatre’ Stephen Sondheim. Covering Sondheim’s work from West Side Story to Into the Woods, Joanna explores the jazzy side of Sondheim without losing the theatrical truth.
To bring an authentic musical theatre sound to proceedings, Joanna is joined by special guest, accomplished musical theatre actress Leigh McDonald (National Theatre’s Olivier Winning cast of Honk and Mamma Mia).
Enjoy Joanna’s jazzy take on Sondheim classics like Send in the Clowns, Being Alive, Giants in the Sky and The Miller’s Son whilst Leigh McDonald gives her mind-blowing rendition of Not Getting Married from Company. With beautiful duets on Pretty Women and The Ladies Who Lunch and an a cappella rendition of Somewhere, Eden gives Sondheim’s works a fresh new approach.
