Folkstock Records are proud to present two of our most popular artists for this once in a lifetime double header show.

Mike has been an independent artist for most of his career. However, in 2019 we collaborated on an extremely popular ‘best of’ collection called Alchemy, which we released on our label. We were delighted, but not surprised when this release attracted some more Radio 2 coverage to complement that which he’d already had.

As anyone who has followed Mike over his impressive and dedicated career will know, Mike has made 19 albums. (20 if you include Alchemy). Since the late 60’s he has been touring, singing, playing and writing throughout the UK and Europe as well as taking his music, songs and stories to US, Canada and New Zealand along the way. Often to be heard on Radio 2, you cannot fail to be engaged by this man’s wonderful voice and fine guitar work as well as his on stage presence.

As if that wasn’t enough, this glorious double bill marks a year since Zoe Wren’s lauded album ‘Reckless River’ was released during the covid restrictions, so this is now an exciting ‘better one year late than never’ album launch!

Since starting out as a London Underground busker, Zoë Wren has been invited to play shows from the Cambridge Folk Festival to opening for Ralph McTell. Described as “refreshingly bold”, her songs hook you from the first line, and have been heard on BBC Radio 2 and London Live. Zoë's debut album Reckless River was named Fatea's Debut Album of the Year 2020, its lyrics “gloriously delivered with intonation, inflections and high notes which evoke Joni Mitchell at her very best” according to Folk Radio UK.

Zoë has also appeared on The One Show, BBC One, promoting her work with music and dementia for charity Live Music Now. A previous winner of the PRS Lynsey de Paul Prize, Zoë’s album was supported by grants from the Alan Surtees Trust and the Drake YolanDa Award, as well as the generous contributions of her community on Twitch, where she is a Twitch Partner and livestreams every week to thousands of viewers around the world.
