Due to a personal loss we regret to say that Rachel Newton won't be performing on The Shee 'Summer's Promise' Tour. Our apologies, but rest assured that the band will present a performance of their usual high standard.

Cross-border folk multi-instrumentalists and festival favourites The Shee met on the Folk and Traditional Music Degree course at Newcastle University in 2006.

They are an exceptional all-female band boasting powerful and emotional vocal performances and instrumental prowess featuring the talents of Sting’s clogger of choice Amy Thatcher, on accordion. For ‘The Shadows’ Tour The Shee will be joined by a new member – Scottish-Icelandic percussionist Signy Jakobsdottir, adding a fresh approach to the band’s huge catalogue of material.

Following on from Continuum which was released in 2016 to celebrate 10 years together as a band,The Shee are now working on material for their new album. It will feature an adventurous brew of folk, Gaelic and Bluegrass music. Expect low airs, Gaelic ballads, original songs, high-energy tunes, hypnotic riffs, and of course … clog dancing !
