Van Kuijk Quartet

Haydn: Quartet Op.33 No.2
Janacek: Quartet No. 1, Kreutzer Sonata
Ravel: Quartet Op.35 in F

The young Van Kuijk Quartet from France have been enjoying an impressive rise to international prominence. Following successes in Germany, Austria, Norway and Switzerland, the Quartet triumphed at the 2015 Wigmore Hall String Quartet competition in London, not only taking the overall First Prize but also winning the ‘Best Beethoven’ and the ‘Best Haydn’ prizes.

Their beautifully balanced programme not only gives us a chance to hear what makes their interpretations of Haydn stand out so impressively, but also showcases the irresistible Gallic charm of their compatriot Maurice Ravel’s beguiling string quartet.
