Funky Folk Rhythm Guitar: Part 1

  • This event has now passed

10am - 12.30pm

Have you ever wondered how to spice up your strumming and get more variety in your rhythm guitar playing – especially when accompanying other instruments or singers?

This workshop will explore right hand techniques and patterns to make your playing more funky and exciting, with a focus on learning and adapting different rhythmic styles to accompany traditional tunes.  The day is suitable for guitar players who can already play a few different chord sequences and strumming patterns.

Please bring a steel-strung acoustic guitar. Tutor Andy Glass has a wealth of experience as performer, guitar teacher and workshop  leader. His playing across different musical styles ranges from soul/funk as guitarist for Bill Withers and Geno Washington, through progressive rock with his own band Solstice to folk with acclaimed ceilidh band 3sticks.
