This follow-up workshop to our Guitar for Improvers workshop is also suitable for improving beginners who have been playing for a while but would like some extra help in moving on. Fingerstyle guitar uses right hand fingers to playnote patterns as an alternative to strumming and is used in a wide variety of styles and accompanying songs.
This workshop will explore different finger-picking patterns for different songs and see how capos help us use “friendly” open chords in various keys. We look at how classical guitarists play and explore one simple impressive classical piece, as well as looking at ‘self-accompanied’ playing where we play melody and accompaniment at the same time. Notes will be provided. To benefit from this workshop you need to have been playing for at least 6-12 months and be able to play most of chords G, C, D, A, E, F, Am, Dm, Em, Bm, F#m, B7, G7, F7.
