In recent weeks we have re-started a number of our workshops and courses on a limited basis. It's great to be back in the venue making music again and we've had a very positive response from workshop participants. Please follow this link to read about the planning that has taken place to ensure we can provide a safe environment for all our customers, staff and artists.
Led by John Bowman, this workshop is for anyone who wants to develop their listening and playing skills without the use of written music. You do not need to have had any previous jazz playing experience. The workshop will take you through simple rhythm and note playing exercises, and build to everyone playing as a band and improvising in a well-known jazz standard.
The workshop is open to all instrumentalists – just let us know what you play when you book. You need to be familiar with basic scales and arpeggios on your instrument.
John Bowman is an established jazz musician and teacher, who has led many successful workshops and projects in jazz and wider music education.
