Develop your songwriting skills. In small groups you’ll learn how to collaborate with other songwriters, how to start to generate musical and lyrical ideas, song structures, what works and what doesn’t, and if are there ‘rules’ and when to break them. Suitable for anyone wanting to try songwriting for the first time, or those that have already started their songwriting journey.
Workshop leader John Bowman is founder of the Notivate singer/songwriting programme, and has helped over 5,000 young people in Europe and Africa to record over 1,000 songs. As a pianist and arranger he collaborates regularly with established singer/songwriters, touring widely and appearing on numerous commercial recordings.
You can book a place by calling The Stables box office on 01908 280800 (Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm) or via our online booking service - just follow the booking link above.
Please note we limit bookings to one place per order so that we can gather information about each participant as part of the booking process. This information includes details such as age and previous musical experience, and helps with our planning of the day.
If you wish to book more than one place, please do this in a separate order.
Young People's Bursaries
We don’t want any young people to miss out because of their family circumstances, so we offer means-tested bursaries for those needing financial help to attend. Bursaries are available for the Summer Songwriting Workshsops (4-6 August) and Young Players Jazz Exploration (Oct/Nov). You can find more information here.
