Sunday 13 March - 7.30pm evening public performance
Have you heard of the sea shanty craze on Tic Toc? There’s a world of fun and funky dance-able tunes found in traditional folk music. The Youth Ceilidh Experience is a chance to play some of these as part of a lively band and get your friends and family dancing.
Open to young players from novice to advanced (but not absolute beginners), this multi-ability band is for anyone who has been playing for a while and is looking for new inspiration and musical ideas. Different instruments are welcome – including strings, wind, brass, percussion, keyboard, guitar, bass, traditional and folk instruments.
Everyone will get the chance to explore contemporary folk-dance music. More experienced players who want to can learn how to add to the performance through solos, leading the tune and adding their own ideas to the mix. The new band will also get chance to play as part of the Ceilidh Experience concert and dance on 13 March for an audience of enthusiastic folk music and dance fans.
