G2 are currently celebrating their 27th year of playing classic 1970s Genesis. G2 pay tribute to a vintage period in Genesis’ long and colourful history, the four-man Seconds Out era, and earlier Gabriel years. With a repertoire extending from the 1970 Trespass album to 1980's Duke, G2 faithfully recreate some of the finest progressive rock ever written.
In 2027 G2 will, once again, be performing two different shows at The Stables, with second drummer Jamie Fisher joining the band for both nights.
The Friday show will be The G2 Duke Box - for the first time G2 are inviting the audience to choose the set list (the band will also have a say!). The only restrictions are that your choices have to be songs we already know, and must not be in the Saturday show!
Voting is now open, and full instructions with links to the poll are available on G2’s website, here: g2online.co.uk/duk...
The Saturday show will be a 50th anniversary celebration of Genesis’ ‘Wind And Wuthering’ tour, as performed on their historic four night run at the Palais des Sports in Paris, from 11th to 14th June 1977, and later immortalised on the ‘Seconds Out’ album.
Accolades posted online from recent shows include:
“Best Performance by ANY Trib Band (not just Genesis ones either) I have ever seen...”
“Thanks to all the guys from G2 who were out of this world, I really cannot describe how terrifyingly good you guys are.”
Hear Collins era classics such as Dance On A Volcano, Ripples, One For The Vine, and Afterglow, mixed up with the classics of the Gabriel years, Firth Of Fifth, Cinema Show, The Musical Box and the infamous Suppers Ready. This is vintage Genesis, performed by G2 to a level Genesis themselves would be proud of!
So take a little trip back and relive those wonderful moments of your Genesis musical history with G2.
