Here are just a few examples of the ways we provide opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy, explore and take part in musical activities.

Family Fun Day, July 2026

Our Family Fun Day brought together local families, community groups and residents for a day of activities, entertainment and opportunities to get involved. Alongside the event programme, families could take part in hands-on activities and creative workshops, encouraging people of all ages to participate, learn and connect.

The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with the local community, build positive relationships and create a welcoming space for shared experiences. The strong participation and positive feedback demonstrated the value of creating inclusive opportunities for local people to get involved.

Make My Music, July 2026

Our Make My Music series of music workshops for young people provided creative and inclusive opportunities to develop new skills and express themselves through music. The hands-on sessions encouraged participants to explore music-making, build confidence and work collaboratively with others.

By creating a welcoming environment where participants could actively contribute and develop their creativity, Make My Music supported positive engagement and helped young people feel connected, involved and inspired.

GSCE Music Hub Concert, March 2026

In March we hosted a GCSE Music Hub Concert performed by the Alina Orchestra, which brought to life pieces from the GCSE Music curriculum through an engaging live performance.

The concert gave young people studying GCSE Music the opportunity to hear and experience a range of works in a professional performance setting, helping to deepen their understanding of the music they are studying. It also provided an opportunity for students, teachers, families and the wider community to come together, supporting access to live music and encouraging young people to engage with and develop their interest in music.

Saxophone Celebration, March 2026

Inspired by legacy of The Stables founder Sir John Dankworth, our long-running saxophone workshops invite players to explore this iconic instrument and join a vibrant community of players.

Our Saxophone Celebration concert in March featured experienced adult students performing jazz, blues, rock, pop and classical music. Backed by a rhythm section, ensembles ranged from small groups to a full big band, filling the stage with saxophones.

WeCompose Schools Project, 2025

Since November 2025, our WeCompose project, delivered in partnership with national music agency Music In The Round, has been providing young people with opportunities to actively make, create and experience music.

The project supports young participants to explore their creativity, develop musical skills and work collaboratively, giving them a meaningful role in the music-making process. Through our partnership with Music In The Round, we are extending opportunities for young people to engage with music beyond traditional performance, while connecting them with professional musicians and creative experiences.
