The Three Degrees
For more than six decades, The Three Degrees have captivated audiences with their soulful voices, glamorous style, sparkling choreography and precise vocal harmonies. Along the way, they have amassed an extraordinary catalogue of international hits.
Formed in Philadelphia in 1963 by manager Richard Barrett, the group began as three teenagers rehearsing and performing locally before signing with Swan Records. In 1972, they joined Gamble and Huff’s Philadelphia International label, producing classics including Dirty Ol’ Man, TSOP with MFSB, Year of Decision, Take Good Care of Yourself and the worldwide smash When Will I See You Again.
Their later collaboration with Giorgio Moroder brought further hits including Giving Up, Giving In, The Runner, Woman in Love and My Simple Heart.
Following a number of line-up changes over the years, the group continues its remarkable journey. Today, The Three Degrees are Valerie Holiday, Freddie Pool and Hazel Payne, continuing to tour and bring their timeless Philadelphia soul to audiences worldwide.
