Successful Festival Partnership Nominated for Major Award

Tuesday 11 August 2020

The Stables and MyMiltonKeynes have been shortlisted in the national EMCEES 2020 awards for Best Corporate Partnership, in recognition of the partnership which supports IF: Milton Keynes International Festival.

The EMCEES is the UK arts, culture and heritage sector’s chance to recognise and celebrate excellence in arts, heritage and culture fundraising success. The awards were set up in 2016 by =mc consulting (the team behind the National Arts Fundraising School). Previous winners have included The Royal Shakespeare Company, English National Opera and The National Trust.

MyMiltonKeynes has been the Diamond Partner for IF: Milton Keynes International Festival since 2018. In particular, its support for the 2020 Festival had helped The Stables - producers of the Festival - plan for additional activity in Milton Keynes City Centre this July. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions have prevented this year’s Festival from taking place, though The Stables is already working to plan ways in which the event can be reimagined for 2021.

Melanie Beck, Chief Executive of MyMiltonKeynes said: We are delighted that The Stables has been shortlisted for the EMCEE Awards. Our partnership with this unique organisation has created a Festival that is a diverse cultural explosion for Milton Keynes.  The audience growth and profile has been extraordinary, and truly opened up the regional cultural offer. MyMiltonKeynes is delighted to partner with The Stables as the Festival is a fine example of how a Business Improvement District can enhance and embrace culture into the business and public environment in all its forms.”

Monica Ferguson, Chief Executive & Artistic Director of The Stablessaid:“To be shortlisted for this award is a great testament to the partnership work we have developed with businesses in Milton Keynes.  It would be a fantastic achievement to bring back the award given the particular challenges we have faced this year due to COVID-19.”

The EMCEES’ judges will now decide on which of the three shortlisted partnerships will win the award awards for Best Corporate Partnership at this year’s ceremony, taking place online on 18th August.
