Learning & Participation

Taking part in music making and musical learning are central to The Stables’ mission, bringing music to the widest possible audience and enriching lives through music.

Our learning and participation programme works with people of all ages and levels of ability and across many musical styles. With life-long learning at its heart, the programme includes workshops, courses, talks, concerts and training.

Our outreach work and partnerships aim to support people across the region who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in music-making activities.

In 2025/26, we are providing opportunities for school students across all five Key Stages to engage with music-related activities and events taking place at The Stables – the first-time we have been able to offer this breadth of provision.
