The Stables warmly welcomes the Government’s announcement of additional support for the arts and in particular for live music and performance venues that have been fighting for survival as a result of the pandemic.

The Stables has lost 95% of its income since it closed its doors on 17 March and is extremely grateful to the many individuals and organisations who have donated to our fundraising appeals during the lockdown period.

The announcement by the Government that it will invest £1.57 billion into the sector at this critical time is significant, recognising the important economic and social benefits which the cultural sector delivers.

We look forward to hearing more details of the package, including details of how and when support might be available and importantly a timetable for reopening.

In the meantime, we are working to plan a programme of events that our customers can safely enjoy and look forward to welcoming amazing performers to our stages once again.
