Mozart Symphony no. 33
Beethoven Piano Concerto No.2
Haydn Symphony No.88
Soloist: Antoine Préat, Piano
Conductor: Hilary Davan Wetton
Our season closes with pianist, Antoine Préat, returning to perform Beethoven’s second piano concerto with the Orchestra. We also perform not one, but two symphonies:
Firsly, Mozart’s light and cheery, Symphony no.33. Secondly, Haydn’s Symphony no.88 – a joyous gem of a piece, which makes a powerful impression and is one of his most popular works.
"I was cut off from the world, there was no one to confuse or torment me, and I was forced to become original," explained Haydn of the circumstances that shaped his ever-fresh voice.
