Ceilidh Liberation Front

Presented as part of IF: Milton Keynes International Festival 2025 Tickets

The Ceilidh Liberation Front is a project of the Nest Collective, which itself is an organisation that champions folk, world and roots music, putting on a diverse range of events around the UK.

The CLF are a band specialising in the traditional dances of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland as well as from places further afield. Led by dynamic and experienced dance instructors (known as callers), and comprising some of the finest trad musicians around, the CLF play energising and soulful tunes that accompany the simple yet fun dances that everyone from young to old can join in.

Inclusivity has always been central to social dancing and the CLF are committed to ensuring it remains so into the future. All couples dances can be danced in combinations of any gender, instructions do not use gendered nouns or pronouns, mobility and any other physical issues can be catered for and language barriers overcome by visual instruction.

Ceilidhs are great for weddings, parties, work events and the band are in high demand for these all year round. In addition to these bookings, the CLF play for large-scale Nest Collective events in London such as the annual Burns Supper and the Spring, Summer and Halloween ceilidhs; and at festivals up and down the country.
