This course is for saxophonists with more than two years’ experience and looking to reach an intermediate standard (equivalent to Grade 3 plus) on their instrument.

You will have the opportunity to learn through a structured programme of study, incorporating a mixture of scale and study work, duet and group performance and improvisation activities.

The focus is on having fun, building confidence and competence in a supportive environment which enables students to progress in their musical development.

Contact us on education@stables.org to find out availability of places, and so we can advise you which of the two groups is suitable to join and if your recent sax playing experience is suitable for the course.

Tutor Ian Hill studied music at the Birmingham Conservatoire and Guildhall School of Music and has over 20 year’s experience teaching and facilitating individuals and groups of young and adult learners.

Tutor Lynden Blades is a highly experienced player and teacher who has helped many adult learners to enjoy playing the saxophone, from absolute beginners to established players.

Refreshments:
Tea & coffee is provided.
Participants on a full day workshop or course should bring a packed lunch and other snacks.
