Mozart: Kegelstatt Trio
Mozart: Clarinet Quintet in A major
Schubert: Trout Quintet
Mozart’s Clarinet Quintet showcases the composer at his most daringly beautiful: from the luxuriant opening string chords, through folk-like charm and reflective meloncholy to its hopeful final moments. Preceded by Mozart’s innovative Kegelstatt Trio, Robert Plane, Ensemble 360’s clarinet player takes centre stage in this celebration of the great composer’s writing for wind and strings. Schubert’s enduringly joyful Trout Quintet follows, one of the most famous pieces of the chamber repertoire, promising an evening of exuberant and uplifting music.
