Patti Boulaye: Billie & Me

  • This event has now passed

Billie & Me is a Jazz & Blues one-woman-show that draws humorous, thought-provoking and entertaining parallels and similarities between Billie Holiday's and Patti’s life through childhood, career, love life, influences and lifestyle choices . Billie & Me features the music of Billie Holiday, Etta James, Bessie Smith, Alberta Hunter, Bizet, etc.

Following the last two years of sell-outs of her one-woman shows, the award-winning singer and musical theatre star Patti Boulaye returned to touring UK in 2023 with her brand-new one-woman show Diana & Me which has proved to be a great success and will now tour the UK again through 2024, after Patti has starred as the Genie in Aladdin at the Theatre Royal, Windsor.

However, there are always many requests for Patti to reprise Billie & Me and Patti is always thrilled to perform the show about Billie Holiday whom she regards as her personal idol. So, Billie & Me returns to the The Stables for one night only.

Last year Patti launched her current internet streaming TV chat show Life With Patti Boulaye in which she encouraged celebrities and successful people from all walks of life to share with her and her audience, challenges they had overcome in their life/career and how they had endured difficult times in order to demonstrate to young people that, in life, difficulties can be surmounted, but it may not be easy.

In October last year Patti, who is a Visiting Teaching Fellow at Middlesex University, was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree for services to The Arts and Education by the Joint Council of Churches just after she appeared in the BBCTV series “Celebrity Master Chef” and “The Real Marigold Hotel” among other national TV shows.

Patti has published her remarkable and moving autobiography The Faith of a Child that charts her riveting life story through wealth, poverty and near death in the Biafran civil war, to show-business stardom and success in Britain and Nigeria.

Patti, who came to prominence as a singer, winning the British ITV talent show New Faces, where she made history by becoming the only contestant ever to receive the maximum 120 points, was awarded an OBE for her charity work in the UK and Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016 by HM King Charles. Her personal charity has built five healthcare centres in Africa and helped to finance a school with Prince Harry’s Charity.
