Peter Cox is the vocalist and front man of Go West. The duo won the ‘Best New Artist’ Brit Award in 1986. Their debut album included four top 20 singles and remained in the UK chart for over a year.
With their iconic, signature keyboard riffs, Go West had a stream of hits in the UK and the US during the 80s and 90s with singles such as ‘We Close Our Eyes’, ‘Call Me’, ‘Goodbye Girl’, 'Don’t Look Down’ and ‘Faithful’. They are also known for their multi-award-winning song ‘The King Of Wishful Thinking’ from the soundtrack to the film ‘Pretty Woman’.
Peter’s eponymous Chrysalis Records solo album, released in 1997, included the singles ‘Ain’t Gonna Cry Again’, If You Walk Away’ and ‘What A Fool Believes’, all of which made the UK top 40.
‘Seaglass’ is Peter's new album. His seventh album sees him reuniting with original Go West producer Gary Stevenson along with multi-instrumentalist John Mitchell, AKA Lonely Robot, who produces and performs on four tracks.
The sound of ‘Seaglass’ is an unmistakable mix of Peter's unique distinct vocals and finely tuned songwriting skills. The first four singles from the album, ‘Too Far Gone’, ‘She Wants Magic’, ‘Dream Burning Down’ and ‘Confidant’ have all reached #1 on The Heritage Chart.
The songs on ‘Seaglass’ have all been written by Peter, apart from a stunning cover of American singer-songwriter Donna Missal’s ‘Jupiter’, co-written by Missal and Indie superstar Sharon Van Etten.
