
Ace trumpeter Paul Higgs plays with a sublime tone and breathtaking technique. He has performed with Johnny Dankworth, Lulu, Tony Hatch, John Williams, Peggy Lee and Nancy Wilson. He has also performed in major concert venues around the world, and receives standing ovations on a regular basis.
Paul presents music in the Cool Jazz style. Characterised by a relaxed mood, the style is known for its emphasis on melody, structure and counterpoint, with mellow tones, intricate harmonies, and subdued rhythms. Paul plays tunes by the giants of Cool Jazz - Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Shorty Rogers, Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, the Modern Jazz Quartet and Lester Young, amongst others.
