The Enid was founded by Robert John Godfrey, Francis Lickerish and Stephen Stewart in 1973, recording their debut album, In The Region Of The Summer Stars the following year. (Released through EMI International).
The early years of the band were personified by two lead guitarists, fighting it out on stage in front of large crowds at the famous London Marquee Club. Since the 1980s the band had to make do with just one magnificent virtuoso - Stephen Stewart.
