If you're interested in exhibiting in our gallery space in the main foyer at The Stables, please read the information below - we are now accepting applications for our October 2025-January 2026 exhibition.
ARTIST SUBMISSION CALL OUT
Are you a talented visual artist living or working in Milton Keynes or the surrounding area? The Stables invites you to showcase your work in our recently opened Foyer Gallery. We are seeking creative submissions from professional artists for exhibitions scheduled throughout the year, with the next exhibition planned from 6 October 2025 – January 2026.
The Stables is a professional music and performance venue with a mix of audience ages. If selected, your art will be displayed in a venue with high foot traffic. We are particularly interested in artwork that aligns with our focus on music, community, participation and engagement.
Marketing support
The art exhibition will be featured in our quarterly events brochure for The Stables, promoted on our social media posts, and highlighted on our website offering great visibility. There is an option to host a private viewing (subject to availability and additional costs)
Selection
The art will be selected by a small panel. A technician will assist with mounting the exhibition and be responsible for adjusting the lighting in consultation with the artist.

- the reason why you want to exhibit work at The Stables and its commercial appeal to customers
- links to your website or recent work as examples
- a brief artist biography
- your social media handles.
The fine print
- Format - we accept 2D artworks (unfortunately we cannot accommodate 3D or A/V works)
- All work should be framed or have hooks for hanging on the canvas
- ·Size limit: the maximum size of artwork we can hang is A0
- Amount - A typical exhibition would require between 30 - 45 pieces depending on size
- Content - we are not able to accept artwork that has graphic content, highly political or inappropriate language.
- Price range – we encourage work that is accessible to our audiences, with suggested prices between £35 -£250.
- Display space - our wall spaces are 2 x 5m and 1 x 6m
- Weight limits – each metre of wall space can support up to 12.5kg
- Insurance - all artwork should be insured by the artist. The value of artwork should not exceed £1,000
- Commission – There is no fee to exhibit, only a commission (15%+VAT) on any sales
