A hands-on workshop using real instruments from around the world, and a chance for young people interested in different kinds of music to come together and play as a band. You don’t need to have played an instrument before, or have played in any kind of band, Just bring your love of music and be willing to give it a go!
Discover how music can be created using a wide range of instruments from across the globe, including balafon, djembe drums, xylophones, vibraphones, keyboards, guitars, Steel Pans and many more. Using sounds and styles from different parts of the world, find out how rhythm, melody, and harmony come together. Get creative and explore grooves, chords, and musical patterns, and learn how to listen and play together as a band.
You can also build your musical confidence while you learn and play some popular songs from four different styles across four different continents.
