The Stables Wins Prestigious Business Award
The Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards returned on 24 March at Stadium MK to celebrate the city’s remarkable business achievements over the past two years, since the last MKBAA event in 2020. More than 600 guests packed out the ballroom to hear the 13 category winners announced on stage.
The Stables was the winner in the Arts & Culture category, repeating its success of 2019.
The theme for this year’s awards was ‘MK – Leading the UK’s Green Recovery – Survive, Revive & Thrive’ and many of the night’s winners had shown their ability to adapt their businesses to be more aware of their environmental responsibilities both now and into the future.
Commenting on the award, The Stables' Chief Executive & Artistic Director Monica Ferguson said: "It's a tremendous honour to receive this award and our thanks go to the MKBAA panel of judges for recognising the value of the work we do at The Stables. The past couple of years have been tough ones for the organisation, but thanks to the skill and commitment our staff, volunteers and partners, we are now able to look forward to a brighter and more positive future."
The judging panel said: "Having produced a festival in the midst of pandemic uncertainty, which engaged and enthused the local community and gave the city positive recognition during a particularly challenging time, the judges felt the recipient of this award showed great commitment, determination and community spirit. Their ability to engage stakeholders, in addition to the environmental sustainability theme of the festival impressed the judges."
