TURNTABLISM: INTRODUCTION TO SCRATCH DJING

MONDAY 20 JULY, 10am-4pm 

Spend the day getting hands-on with the fundamentals of scratch DJing. You’ll learn how to perform some of the core scratch techniques that all DJs start with, building control, timing and confidence on the decks.

You’ll also be introduced to a simple way of notating and composing your own scratch rhythms, helping you move beyond copying into creating your own ideas. Throughout the day, you’ll experiment with scratching a range of different sounds and applying your skills over a variety of backing beats.

By the end of the session, you’ll have a solid foundation in scratch DJing and the tools to continue developing your own style.
