This workshop introduces the blues, looking at techniques such as turnarounds, shuffles and basic basslines, demystifying ‘V-IV-I’ chord sequences. We’ll explore fundamental techniques such
as finger picking, hammer-ons and pull-offs, using examples from classic recordings. You’ll need to be comfortable with E, A, D and B7 chords and be able to change confidently between them. Some knowledge of E and A minor pentatonic scales
will also be helpful. (Details available on Stables website or email education@stables.org.) You will need to bring a six-string acoustic guitar. (The follow on Blues Guitar Part 2 takes place on Saturday 30 March.)
