The mandolin is used in a range of styles and is great as a melody or rhythm instrument and this workshop introduces both styles of playing. Exploring basic technique, simple tunes, chord shapes and progressions and playing as a group, the workshop is suitable for anyone who has some basic experience of stringed instruments (such as guitar, ukulele, banjo, bouzouki, violin) and who can play basic open chords and a few scales of tunes.
An ability to read tablature is useful but not essential. Please bring a mandolin if you have one or contact education@ stables.org if you need to borrow one (limited numbers available).
