Never The Bride

  • This event has now passed

Never the Bride, one of the UK’s “best live bands” are back with a new album, released on the band’s own label - Lock, Stock & Barrel Records. The record features original tracks such as Love Finds The Young and Old, For Better For Worse, Don’t Trudge Mud, The Girls are Back in Town, all performed in their inimitable blues rock style. Get out your tequila shot glasses and get ready to rock all night, Never the Bride are one band who perform with the same gusto and gustiness as when they first got together twenty-five years ago. Nikki Lamborn proving once again that she has earned her title as the queen of blues rock, her voice wild and uninhibited yet still focused and deliberate.

Their biography reads like a Who’s Who of rock music, having performed alongside The Who, Robert Plant, Bryan Adams, Elton John, Beth Hart, Eric Clapton and many more. Roger Daltrey said, “Nikki Lamborn has the best female rock voice since Janis Joplin and I know what I’m talking about, I knew Janis.” In 1995 they received a gold disc for their contribution on the record “Encomium, A tribute to Led Zeppelin,” on which they performed an unforgettable version of ‘Going to California.’ More than twenty years on, along with a world class band, Never the Bride is still wowing audiences and growing their already large fan base, selling out shows wherever they play.

Catherine “Been” Feeney, keyboard player and occasional guitarist, is the main composer behind the songs that together with Nikki's voice, make Never the Bride unique. These ladies are true rock and roll royalty.

Their album Long Live Live was recorded at The Stables Theatre, Milton Keynes, UK and introduced personally by BBC DJ Bob Harris, who said of the band, “I first start playing them on the radio Mid Nineties at GLR, (Greater London Radio). We became firm friends then and I was absolutely struck by their brilliant musicianship, their passion, their commitment, they really really mean it...They are one of the best live bands in Britain today.”
