Improve your blues playing with this workshop designed to help you move on with your blues guitar techniques. Today we will go into 12 bar progressions, the blues scale and shuffle rhythms in more depth, through tunes by Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Jimmy Reed and John Lee Hooker. Participants will need to bring a 6 string acoustic guitar. Prior attendance on Beginners part 1 is recommended. Players need to be confident with the chords of E, A, D and B7 have a good grasp of the E minor and A minor ‘pentatonic’ scale.
Joff Watkins is an accomplished blues player who combines a performing and teaching career in both harmonica and guitar, including leading the highly popular blues workshops at the Stables
