For players of any instrument, and any level experience (except absolute beginners).
How would you like to play with other young musicians, get people dancing and learn to play folk and traditional music with a twist?
If you can play a tune from memory, or play chords to accompany a tune, you could be part of this exciting new band, and work as a team to put on an amazing final event for family, friends and dancers of all ages!
You don’t have to know anything about folk or traditional music and you don’t have to read music notation – you’ll be learning mostly ‘by ear’ as well as having written notes to help you when you need them. You’ll get chance to play folk and traditional music mixed with musical ideas from other popular music styles. You’ll also get chance to try some other instruments from the folk and traditional music world.
If you have any questions about your playing level or your instrument being OK for this course, contact education@stables.org.
