This course is for saxophonists with 2 or more years’ experience and looking to reach an intermediate standard (equivalent to grade 3 plus) on their instrument. You will have the opportunity to learn through a structured program of study, incorporating a mixture of scale and study work, duet and group performance and improvisation activities. The focus is on having fun, building confidence and competence in a supportive environment which enables students to progress in their musical development.
This course is available twice each date. Contact us on education@stables.org to find out availability of places, and also so we can advise you which of the 2 groups is suitable to join and if your recent sax playing experience is suitable for the course.
Tutor Steve O’Gorman is an in-demand jazz performer, session player and experienced teacher of saxophone, clarinet and jazz improvisation to all ages.
Tutor Lynden Blades is a highly experienced player and teacher who has helped many adult learners to enjoy playing the saxophone, from absolute beginners to established players.

Participants on a full day workshop or course should bring a packed lunch and other snacks.
